Along with being a helpful resource for all things tax-related, the Gehman Accounting team is also well-versed in IT and software. We recently implemented a robust cloud ERP known as Acumatica. We’ve had a very successful path so far, and we are excited to see what lies ahead for us.

It was great to be at the Acumatica Summit not too long ago. We would like to recap the week, highlighting key takeaways and how much we enjoyed our time in Houston, Texas.

The Acumatica team kicked off the week with a general session for all attendees. More than 1,500 customers, partners, analysts, and employees filled the room at the Marriott Marquis Houston for the largest-ever Acumatica Summit. CEO Jon Roskill introduced the theme: Collaborate - Innovate - Accelerate, and reflected on accomplishments for Acumatica by sharing some exciting numbers.

At this year's summit, Acumatica focused on their customers more than ever. While several customers highlighted their success with Acumatica, attendees were inspired by their stories of transformation and growth. Miir, manufacturers of stainless-steel mugs; Nothing Bundt Cakes, creators of fine cakes; and Fabuwood, one of the largest kitchen cabinet makers in the US, were all featured in video or on stage.

Roskill then recognized Fabuwood as Acumatica Customer-of-the-Year for their success in speeding up the delivery time for custom kitchens.

Also recognized was World Hope International as Acumatica Non-Profit-of-the-Year for their global work and success in scaling their organization with Acumatica.

These customers, and many more like them, are transforming their businesses with best-in-class cloud ERP software. Roskill states that “Acumatica’s commitment to customer success fuels our growth.”

How is Acumatica unique?

Acumatica believes that connected business is more than just digital transformation. "We're enabling [our customers] to go out beyond the walls, to connect their partners, to connect their suppliers, and even to start connecting with their customers, to deliver these amazing and rich customer experiences that collectively help to drive business growth..." Although Acumatica was founded only about a decade ago, it was founded by veterans in ERP and has been on an outstanding growth track. Acumatica is combining its award-winning software platform with developers and distributors worldwide. By signing these long-term agreements, Roskill indicated that “these long-term contracts provide guaranteed revenue streams for Acumatica.”

“Acumatica’s 100% channel module allows customers to work with Partners who are close, and who are real experts in ERP implementations. We provide support and guidance to our Partners as and when needed.” Because Acumatica doesn’t have a sales team, they funnel all that money into research and development.

• Acumatica's new Amazon Alexa for Business skill
• Search improvements using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)

Collaborate. Innovate. Accelerate.

Customers and partners of Acumatica also had the chance to network, collaborate, and accelerate their business through informational breakouts and training sessions. Innovative developers participated in the Acumatica Hackathon 2019 to deliver real-world solutions to real-world problems. Many partners also showcased their industry solutions in the largest showcase Acumatica has seen yet.

Former NASA astronaut (as well as author, speaker, and explorer) Mike Massiminodelivered the closing keynote address. Mike is currently a professor at Columbia University and Senior Advisor for Space Programs at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum. He delightfully entertained the audience with his inspiring life story.
